Short Circuit
Feb. 12th, 2012 08:25 pmTitle: Short Circuit
Year: 983 FY
Characters: Taz Hantree, Dallu
It was spontaneous--the two of them, high up the mast where no one would clearly see what they were doing unless someone steals my spyglassand they'd been coming to this for the past year anyway and suddenly everything felt right. Up here, with the sea spray, and the wind, as far away from prying eyes as they could get on a ship, and--
"How the fuck do you get these things on in the morning?"
Dallu blinked, and then the ship rocked and he nearly lost his balance. Taz caught him by the waistband of his incomprehensible underclothes, and started giggling. "Um. Maybe we should move down to my cabin instead?"
He started giggling too, and steadied himself against her. "Yeah, probably a good idea. Before we get splinters."
That made her laugh harder. "Yes. Before splinters."
He retrieved his shirt from the railing, and she collected hers from the floor. "...Um."
"What?"
"...Is that your breastband?"
There it was. Unmistakeable. Caught in the rigging. Several feet below them. Where everyone could see.
"...Well, we weren't gonna stay secret long anyway," Taz said.
"We?" Dallu asked, hopefully.
Taz grinned at him, then pointed at the breastband. "Ain't gonna fetch itself, sweetheart."
"You know," Dallu called back to her, climbing over the railing onto the ropes, "It kind of takes the force out of your orders when you can't stop giggling."
