Notes: This is a companion to Waking Up
Riluke had never been particularly religious. One of her aunts was a priestess, and her cousin Kirana was studying to become one, but as for Riluke herself, faith hadn't seemed particularly relevant to her daily life. Then, when Isshiri was attacked, she saw no reason to trust gods who allowed people like her uncle Ulore to move unchecked and hurt children. And her father's murder had only seemed to confirm that.
But here she was, watching Isshiri wake up after disappearing for weeks and not moving for days, and she found herself thanking every god whose name she could remember.
