Taz took a deep breath before valuting over the railing and stepping onto the Morning Glory for the first time.
He was brand-new, and while he hadn't been built just for her, it almost felt like he had been. She was his first captain--probably the first person to touch him since the shipwrights finished and he was inspected. He was small and light, shallow on the draft, and would be fast. She could almost feel him aching to move, to start their adventures, as much as she did.
"Hello," she finally said. "My name's Taz. And I'm your Captain."
