They’d never really talked about it, her and Dallu. Back on the Glory, it would’ve been bad timing, so there’d been no need, and she’d taken care to prevent it.
But now she was retired, they’d moved North, he’d had amends to make for…whatever he’d done to piss off the Elders, but it was all settled now.
They were settled now, and married proper, and she wasn’t sailing anymore, and she wasn’t getting any younger--and the longer they waited, the likelier there’d be complications, as she understood it.
So, all that decided, she announced, “Dallu, I want a baby.”
